Aspettativa negata

How unthinkable.

I cannot imagine what motivated Hwang Woo-Suk to fabricate his results and publish it in a scientific journal. Being a part of the academic community, I am a bit of an idealist. I love my work because I love to share my findings to the world. Fame should not be one's motivation in this business. I love what I am doing because it gives me joy when I publish a work, so that others can learn something from it. So that others can benefit from it. I admit that seeing my name in print can be exhilirating at times, but that can also be accomplished by stabbing someone and getting arrested.

Hwang Woo-Suk, why?

If the probe that is being conducted on his work turns out that he indeed fabricated his findings, I find it hard to attach the title that he is commonly called with.
