Meandering in Malta: The Palace State Rooms

Of course I visited the Grandmaster's Palace. This is found in Valletta, in a non-descript building, but once you enter, there are amazing thing inside. See, from the outside, most of the country's sights aren't spectacular. It's the interior that will sweep you away.

The entrance to the palace is through a large door, which leads to a garden. There, I showed my Heritage Malta ticket, which allowed me entry to this palace.

I have to say, however, that the curtains looked old and could use some laundry. But aside from that, the furniture definitely looks stately.

There aren't plenty of rooms open for the public. That being said, there are still lots of items that are interesting to see. I liked this corridor full of medieval armor, as well as the marble floor showing the coat of arms.

This palace is definitely a must-see, even though I have seen more stunning palaces than this one. If you are in Malta, try to pay this one a visit, as well as the other museums that are attached to this building.

  1. Was it busy when you visited? Looks pretty quiet.

    1. Zhu,

Well, there was the random official-looking guy wearing a suit that would walk pass every now and then, but also, I really waited for a bit before the shot would clear of people before I would take my photo.
