Awards, Rewards, et al.

Ah, I am in the middle of the second to the last week. Ooohhhh.

Don't worry, progress is being made. I am nearly complete with my Syntax 2 homework, so I can shove it in the corner and not worry about it. I am also ready with my guest lecture that I will give two days from now. My data gathering for my Semantics paper is also going well.

But then, to tell you the truth, I am tired. No, I take that back. I am EXHAUSTED.

But then I guess you know that already.

So I decided to award myself. With the award season going on, I think I am joining on the bandwagon when it comes to recipients of awards. My professor is receiving a SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching tomorrow, and so the department is very happy, and the festivities are complete with a toast and all. Her dissertation advisor in graduate school even is in town to witness the event.

So, I decided to award myself as well. For a year of a job well done. My award will come in the mail in about a week. Yes, I am not telling what the award is, until I first see it myself. So I guess you also would have to wait and see. But this I can tell you, when my award comes, this blog wouldn't be what it used to be. I guess that is a big give-away already.

  1. Awarding yourself - that's an excellent idea!
I am doing that myself since two years too and it's satisfying my "hunger for appreciation" every time. :-)

But it sounds really mysterious what kind of award you are expecting...
    I am curious.
