I always use that phrase whenever I feel empowered. And today was one of those days.
I went to the three-hour meeting this morning. I volunteered to be part of an evaluation council for a certain fund-granting foundation. And so I was able to evaluate funding proposals and suggest how much money the foundation will be giving the applicants. It was fun to be in a position of power, but then I must say that responsibility also comes with it, because obviously, one must be fair in exercising one's policies in granting money. If one was penalized because of a certain mistake, then another must be penalized the same way also if the other applicant made the same mistake as well.
So that was that.
I also finished revising my test stimuli for my norming experiment. I already sent it to my adviser for comments, and hopefully I can run it next week. Although I must say that I may have to ask another professor to gain access to her class, since I do not know how responsive the students will be. I need 40-60 participants, and I am going to advertise it to a class that sits 100, but I don't know if I will get the desired number. In that case, I must approach other classes as well.
I made a phone call to the Ecuadorian Embassy in Washington DC today. I just wanted to confirm that I as a Philippine citizen, do not need a visa to enter the country. And yes, the guy said that indeed I can be there for 90 days without a visa. Sweet! Eight weeks to go!
Finally, I revised my Phonology homework, after spotting some goofs on my analyses.
So there you go, my energetic Tuesday. Again, I present you my Lackawanna Basilica Series. This is a chapel inside, I like this one because of the different colors that is in this shot.
