Year 8

On to my eighth year!

Yes folks, after seven years of blogging, I still find myself inclined to continue. So with the advent of July, this blog is now entitled Memoirs of a Linguist: Year 8!

I remember starting this blog back in 2005. I started it right before I moved to Buffalo to start graduate school. I originally intended it to be a chronicle of my (mis)adventures in graduate school. I remember blogging about packing, moving, settling down, classes, things of that nature. And as the years went by, the content evolved, with parts of it becoming more like travelogues, while others have become my stage for political and philosophical rants.

So, where does the eighth year find me? I am finishing graduate school, after seven years. The next chapter of my life is still unknown. What is known however, is that I will soon say goodbye to Buffalo. Yep, Buffalo isn't my last stop in my life journey. This is just a temporary (albeit long) stay. And honestly, I don't know where to next.

But we'll see. Whenever something is sure, I will definitely announce it here, and life will go on.

  1. That's quite a large chunk of your life, when you think of it! Do backup your writing ;-)

  2. Zhu,

Yes it is indeed. I can't believe sometimes that I have continuously written for the past seven years. And yes, now that you mentioned it, I have backed up my stuff, and I plan to do it regularly every couple months or so.
