The last thing I wanted to do in southern Spain was actually the Caminito del Rey. This is an old foot path in a very scenic part of the country. When I knew that I was going to Andalucia, I made sure that I had tickets to go to this place.
The Caminito del Rey, or the King's Little Path, is a walkway that runs along a narrow gorge in El Chorro. The scenery is amazingly beautiful, and it's definitely the highlight of my trip.
This used to be known as the world's most dangerous path, because there were several deaths that happened years ago. The thing is, the path fell into disrepair, hence daredevils started going here trying to walk it for the adrenaline rush.
Nowadays it's a perfectly safe trail, although you still have to wear headgear, and there's still the heights. I saw a few people backing out, because they overestimated the heights, and they started feeling uncomfortable.
The walk takes a few hours, and is fully guided. There are park staff strategically positioned in various parts of the trail. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants amazing scenery, and something different to do.
Now that I have done the Caminito del Rey, it was time to go back home. Stay tuned, there's a new travelogue coming up!
