Peru, 11 Years Later: Casa del Moral

Aside from churches, I also visited the Casa del Moral in Arequipa. The Casa del Moral is a large ancestral house built around 1730. Now it is a museum.

Historical houses typically are square, with an inner courtyard. This is the same. The above photos show you how the interior courtyard looks like.

The living areas are found in all the sides of the house. There are rooms that have very ancient pieces of furniture. There are also many other works of art as well as sculpture that one can gaze at. In any case, this house allows visitors to check out how life was like back in the days. While there are plenty of aspects of this house that look dated and old, when this was constructed, it was definitely a very modern looking house.
