A Stopover in Qatar: The Museum of Islamic Art

During my brief stay in Doha, I went to check out a few interesting places in town. Of course I went to the Souq Waqif, which was interesting given it's a relatively busy market. There were other souqs inter-connected with each other: I even saw the Falcon Souq, where they sell birds; and there's also this little street where all they sell are pets, including dogs, kept in cages. Anyway, I also strolled on the corniche, and eventually found myself in front of a I. M. Pei building, the Museum of Islamic Art.

A Stopover in Qatar: Hanging Out with Family

After spending the day sight-seeing, I then spent some time with family. During the evening, I was picked up by my uncle from my hotel and we headed out first to their flat, and then to dinner. It was fun just catching up, I must say, given that I haven't seen him for a very long time.

Thirteen years ago, I set foot in Europe for the first time. At that time I didn't know I would end up living there. And given I was from the Philippines, my foreign outlook was very much oriented toward North America: back in 2005, I have already spent some years living in North America, and in fact, I was scheduled to move to the USA later that year. My visit to Europe was just a short vacation before my upcoming move. And somewhere in this vacation to Europe, I somehow got the chance to visit Qatar for the first time. Though frankly speaking, I didn't do anything there.

A Voyage to Vietnam (and a Stopover in Qatar)

As I have already briefly mentioned in the past, I took a substantial trip recently, as I was on the road for 3 weeks. I went to Vietnam during December and January, escaping the winter for a little bit. On the way there, I also made a brief stop in Qatar, meeting with some relatives. And I must say, it was fun.
