The Victoria and Albert Museum is immense, and therefore I am devoting three posts for this incredible museum. This final post deals with everything else besides the European and Asian Collections.

London Long Weekend: Asian Art in the Victoria and Albert Museum
The Victoria and Albert Museum primarily focuses on European artefacts, but they also have a sizeable collection of Asian Art. After checking out the European artefacts, I then devoted some time to exploring this part of the collection.

London Long Weekend: European Art in the Victoria and Albert Museum
On my last day, I headed to the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was a Sunday, and after checking out of my hotel, I simply stored my bag and headed out. I have the entire morning for myself, and I decided to head to this museum to explore its massive collection.

London Long Weekend: The Barbican
After spending the earlier part of the day in Brighton, I then headed back to London in the afternoon, and as I still have some time on my hands, I wanted to explore a neighbourhood I haven't been to before, the Barbican Complex.

London Long Weekend: Brighton Seashore
Sometimes I have a habit of going to certain places when everyone else isn't going there. Typically, these are beaches and the seashore, mostly because people go there to go swimming, while I just wanted to see the beach. The same happened in Brighton. I wanted to see the sea, so I headed over to the shore.

London Long Weekend: Royal Pavilion
While I was in London, I took a day trip to Brighton. This is a seaside town, and while it is best seen during the summer, I decided to check it out off-season. After all, it's easy to reach, and there's a grand royal pavilion that is worth checking out.

London Long Weekend: Imperial War Museum
After checking out the Graffiti Tunnel, I walked further until I reached the Imperial War Museum. Somehow the war theme continues in this London visit.

London Long Weekend: The Graffiti Tunnel
The weather was rather cooperative, and so I remained outdoors for this day. And somehow, I stumbled upon the Graffiti Tunnel, near Waterloo Station.

London Long Weekend: Churchill War Rooms
One of the other things I wanted to check out was the Churchill War Rooms, in Westminster. I had this on my radar since a while ago, and while I haven't had the chance to visit it in my previous London visits, I made it a point to head here one morning, very early. I didn't have a pre-booked ticket, but I was the first in the queue that morning, which guaranteed my entrance.

London Long Weekend: The Line
The first thing I have done in London after dropping off my luggage in the hotel was to walk The Line. This is a public art trail running through East London, and since I wanted to explore more of this part of London, walking along this trail seemed like a very logical thing to do.

London Long Weekend
Ah, London. I used to hate this city, after a rather traumatic first visit. But nowadays, I love it. So one weekend earlier this winter, I decided to just take a break and spend some time in London. It was my fifth personal visit to the city, and I had lots of fun!

Working Remotely in Glasgow: Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery
The last thing I checked out - at least with photos (as I have visited other places within Glasgow but just didn't take a photo of it) - was the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery. I was exploring the University of Glasgow one day, and as this museum and art gallery is associated with the university, I used the opportunity to check it out.

Working Remotely in Glasgow: University of Glasgow
There is always this fascination with medieval ancient universities. They always have these eerie old campuses that one can wander around, and immediately Harry Potter comes to mind. I had experienced that while I was visiting Oxford earlier this year, and I suppose it's the same feeling this time when I popped into the grounds of the University of Glasgow.

Working Remotely in Glasgow: Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
During my week-long stay in Glasgow, I easily found the areas and neighbourhoods of the city that I quite liked. Kelvingrove was one of them. It is on the northwestern part of the city, and from where I was staying near St. Enoch, Kelvingrove was a quick Subway ride away. One day, when I didn't have to work, I went early in the morning to visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.

Working Remotely in Glasgow: Riverside Museum
At some point I ended up my walk alongside the River Clyde in the west, and right at the end I found this massively educational Riverside Museum. I like the fact that most of the museums in Glasgow are free, and so I simply walked in and explored the collection.

Working Remotely in Glasgow: Along the River Clyde
I was in Glasgow for a week-long weekend-to-weekend stay. Hence there were a few days where I didn't have to work, and I could spend some time discovering the city. On one of these days, I decided to check out the waterfront. There is a river running through Glasgow, the River Clyde. And some of the city's landmarks are along this body of water.

Working Remotely in Glasgow: Glasgow Necropolis
I have done week-long remote-working stints several times in the past. So far I have gone to places where I have been to before, mostly because of the concern that I would have FOMO being in a city for the first time, needing to work, when there's an entire city outside of my room waiting to be discovered. However, this time, I also had a friend who I haven't seen for a long time, and because he was in Glasgow, I decided to work remotely from Glasgow for a week, in order to meet up with an old friend, even though I haven't been to Glasgow before. And I suppose it also worked out! I checked out various places, such as the Glasgow Necropolis.

Easter in England: Brompton Cemetery
The last thing I checked out in London before heading back to Berlin was something far from the tourist trail. I went to Brompton Cemetery.

Easter in England: Westminster Abbey
The one thing I wanted to definitely see while I was in London was the Westminster Abbey. Every guidebook says that this is a highlight, yet I haven't had the chance to visit it in all of my previous visits to the city. So this time, I actually planned a visit by pre-booking my entrance ticket while I wasn't even there.

Easter in England: National Portrait Gallery
I love the fact that most museums in London are for free. One can simply walk in, see what one wants to see, and step out, all for free. No pressure to see everything just because one paid an entrance fee. The National Portrait Gallery is one such free museum: I stepped in one evening just to use the bathrooms, but I got interested in its collections along the way, therefore I decided to really visit it and see what's inside the day after.
