London Long Weekend: Asian Art in the Victoria and Albert Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum primarily focuses on European artefacts, but they also have a sizeable collection of Asian Art. After checking out the European artefacts, I then devoted some time to exploring this part of the collection.

There are artefacts from Southeast Asia, as well as from the Middle East. There are plenty of sculptures depicting statues of local gods and goddesses, as well as carpets and other utilitarian objects from these various parts of the world.
Some of the artefacts are rather delicate, while others are encased in small vitrines given their rather small size. In any case, I still enjoyed gazing at these various artefacts, and if I were living in London, I definitely would make a habit to visit this free institution on a regular basis.

There is more to see, so stay tuned for another post.
