Prancing Around in Poland: Galicia Jewish Museum

On our next day in Kraków, we decided to concentrate on the Kazimierz area, which is known for its Jewish history. The first place we checked out was the Galicia Jewish Museum.

I have to say I had different expectations when I came here. I thought it was a full exhibit about Jewish life and history in the area, but it turned out to be just a photo exhibition. In any case, I tried to see what I could learn from it.
The first section of the museum (when you enter) is actually geared to children, where one can see exhibits about how Jews have lived in this area of the world back then. That was actually rather fun. But beyond that, the entire museum is essentially a photo exhibit of many Jewish places. Some of them have been disintegrated and pretty much disappeared, others have been renovated and restored, while the rest are somewhere in between.

If you have a particular interest in Jewish life in Poland and also happen to like inspecting photos, then this place should be for you.
