After getting naturalised as a German citizen last summer, I don't have any major life projects at the moment. The only thing I could mention perhaps is this exercise that I am making, of making Berlin interesting again. This has many aspects, like finding new places to eat, as I mentioned earlier. Another aspect it has concerns our flat. We are renovating it.
We actually started with this exercise last summer. We started with the living room. We got rid of the old sofa and bought a new one, something that is less colourful, less chaotic, and more zen-like. We decluttered our home. And now, we are repainting our walls. And considering colours other than white. What it eventually will be, we don't know yet.
We are consulting a friend, who happens to be an architect and interior designer. The thing is, sometimes there is definitely the need to shake things up and make the view slightly different. After all, we've been staring at the same walls for years now, and so it definitely would be great to have a different feeling moving forward. If I want to keep Berlin interesting, then changing how my living areas look like is one way of doing it.
