Traipsing in Tuscany: Alongside the Arno

After leaving the Uffizi, I decided to take a walk alongside the Arno. It was after all good weather, and the sun was out.

The Arno isn't the most watery river out there. I remember seeing it in Pisa and it was rather thin and shallow. In any case, there are interesting views to be seen, especially in Florence.
The Ponte Vecchio, of course, is a highlight of this area. As much as I don't feel like being a customer of any of the jewelry shops on that bridge, I still like looking at it from afar.
From there I headed to the neighbourhood of San Niccolo. It's a quaint area, with a few restaurants that I actually have tried in the several days that I have been in Florence.
At the end of the street, there is the Piazza Poggi, with a rather tall tower with several alcoves. I don't think the tower was accessible, but I stared at it nonetheless. And from here, I headed to dinner. More about that topic later.
