After visiting the Kilmainham Gaol, I walked a bit and crossed the road, and eventually I ended up in the Irish Museum of Modern Art. This museum is housed in the 17th-century Royal Hospital Kilmainham, but even though the building is rather on the traditional side, the artwork contained by these buildings are nothing but traditional.
There was a pop-up cafe in the courtyard, so I had a quick coffee break first, and then later on I bought myself a ticket and explored the collection.
There were many interesting pieces in the collection. Some involved nudity, some involved dead animals, others involved pieces that actually moved and created a blob of paint on the floor. There were others that were definitely interesting to look out yet I would absolutely hesitate to say they were pretty. I suppose this is the one that I actually like in modern art, it makes the observer think about the piece, instead of simply admiring whether the piece is beautiful or not.
