I wanted to visit this prestigious university during my visit to Dublin. After all, I have seen so many pictures of this university's library, and so I definitely wanted to see that in person. So when I was there, I figured out how to do that, by buying a ticket online and heading to the building during my timeslot.
Trinity College Dublin is a very old institution, as it was founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. It is located at the very centre of Dublin, and so I passed by it several times during my visit.
The Reading Room of the library is definitely the most memorable and photogenic part of this visit. It is a very ancient room, filled with ancient books. I wonder how these books are being preserved when there's actually quite a few visitors that come in regularly. It is hard to capture the atmosphere without capturing the visitors, so I more or less always pointed my camera upwards so as to hide the people beneath.
After visiting the interior, I headed outside and explored the campus. I bumped into Arnaldo Pomodoro's
Sfera con sfera just outside of the Berkeley Library. This piece can also be seen in other locations, some of which I have already visited.
Overall, I spent about an hour checking out this place. It was quiet, with a few noteworthy sculptures, and a massively fabulous library.
