The last thing I did while I was in Mardin for two nights was to visit the city museum. It is found on the eastern side of the Old Town, and it contains some interesting artifacts from the city.
As much as this museum was small, I actually learned a lot. There were stories of people from the city, who tried their luck in entrepreneurship, importing cars from the USA, and using them as taxi services. I also watched several videos showing narratives of people who originated from Mardin but went elsewhere, describing their lives in the city.
The above photos provide a glimpse of what the museum was like. It had plenty of exhibits of items from the city's recent and not-so-recent past. I noticed that the artifacts were rather similar to the ones I have seen in Iran, which isn't surprising since Mardin is not your stereotypical Turkish city in any case.
After this, I slowly made my way back west. The next day, I had a flight back to Ankara, and from there, I took a high-speed train to Eskişehir.
