Naples has a very chaotic city layout - during the few days we were there, I was scratching my head trying to figure out how things linked to each other. And during this time, we always passed by this landmark plaza, and the round church sitting in front of it.
Every time we passed by this plaza, there was something going on, either a person giving away free hugs, a man blowing giant bubbles, or some other group singing
O Sole Mio. In any case, we opted to check it out for a bit, including the church.
There is this pair of lions that sit on both ends of the plaza, and it is a rather well-photographed shot of the city. It is sad, however, that the city doesn't do a good job of cleaning the place, which is perhaps my general impression of southern Italy. Things aren't squeaky clean here.
We entered the church, and it is round. It is quite similar to the Pantheon in Rome. There are interesting statues on the sides, and so we checked it out for a bit.
Eventually, we explored its nooks and crannies, but after some time, we exited, and headed elsewhere.
