So, it was time. It was time to check out the Iguazu Falls. I've set aside two days for this. One day to check out the Argentinian side, and another day to see the Brazilian side. I started with the Argentinian side. There was a minibus that picked me up from my hotel, and we drove to the national park. I was absolutely stoked.
Both Argentina and Brazil have national parks protecting the Iguazu Falls. Later on, I would realise that I actually like the Argentinian side better than the Brazilian side. Perhaps this is the reason why they say that it's better to visit the Brazilian side first, before venturing out to the Argentinian side. Anyway, my schedule somehow did it in reverse. So we reached the Argentinian national park, got our tickets, and ventured to the waterfalls.
The first thing I saw was the Garganta del Diablo. This is spectacular, and is reachable by walking a rather long trail over the water. The ending is absolutely spectacular.
The trail is rather long, and as with typical experiences when you're going to a place you haven't been to before, it feels longer than it really is. And you have this thought running in your head, are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? So I just kept walking, from the forest, over metal trails, above the river, wondering where the hell is this waterfall. Until I saw the roaring water.
It was pretty. It was absolutely pretty. It was wild, and amazingly stunning. It was quite a spectacular view to see this water all flowing into this crevice, disappearing and crashing right in front of you. It was absolutely a fascinating sight.
I brought my rain jacket with me. I absolutely needed it. After all, the water was just splashing all over, and you will definitely get wet. But it was a spectacular experience, and something that I definitely would remember.
