It was time to leave Almería. After spending two nights, we packed our bags, loaded it in the car, and headed out. By evening, we would be staying somewhere else, in Jaén, which was northwest from where we were. However, we were taking the scenic route, so we took the A-7 heading northeast, towards the other direction. We wanted first to stop in Mojácar.
Mojácar is a mountain village. It also has a beach nearby, but we were more interested in exploring the village. It is notable as it is white, for the most part, and the atmosphere is just fantastic. After driving for a little bit, we reached out destination, and found a sweet parking spot, right near the elevator that would take us to the centre of town.
As Mojácar is situated on a hill, there are fantastic views of the surroundings, whether it's looking towards the land, or towards the sea. We spent an hour wandering around, but as the village was small, at some point we realised we were back to the point where we started, and therefore it was time to move on. That being said, there were a few people who were staying longer. We actually bumped across several British people (you see their license plate numbers) who seem to be staying relatively long ter in the area. After all, they were going to supermarkets and it seemed like they were stacking up on supplies. What can I say? Spain has great weather for winter, so I don't blame these people.
We went back to the car eventually, drove down the hill, and slowly made our way heading west. But before going to Jaén there was another village we wanted to see first.
