Now it's time to explore other temples. So one morning, after breakfast, I hailed a tuktuk to go to Pre Rup. This is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, built as the state temple of Khmer king Rajendravarman. And I wanted to see it before the crowds appear.
So I got myself a tuktuk, and after 20-something minutes, I was at the entrance. It was an interesting site, a temple in the middle of nowhere, and so far, I seem to be the only visitor. I suppose not for long.
Pre Rup is a temple mountain, and it is made of brick, laterite, and sandstone. Perhaps this is the reason why it looks good when the sun shines. I took some time exploring this place, walking through the corridors, climbing the platforms, and walking around the pyramids. It is a massive temple, but not as large as Angkor Wat, of course.
At some point, other visitors started showing up. It's a popular habit to take selfies facing the east, at least during the morning. After all, this is the best angle given the way the sun is shining. I just dodged those people taking their selfies, and slowly made my way down. It's time to head to another temple.
