The Indochina Adventure: The Dragon Bridge in Da Nang

After Hội An, I headed to Da Nang. This is a rather big city, and in fact, the city's airport was receiving numerous flights from the region. I re-entered Vietnam from Cambodia via Da Nang, but decided to go to Hội An first. Now that I am back, I had a few days to discover the city, and I started with its most famous bridge.

Da Nang is huge, and there are great distances to cover. There is some sort of centre, but the hotel I was in was slightly off that. So I used motorbike taxis as well as walking all over the place to discover the city. At some point, I crossed the Dragon Bridge, which has an interesting form. It has the entire body of a dragon, including its head and tails, acting as the bridge.

As you can see, it is a massive road, with 6 lanes altogether. There is the body of the dragon running through the middle of the bridge. I was walking on it looking at its interesting features.

I was told that during the weekends, in the evenings, there is some sort of show, where this dragon is actually breathing fire and water. I wanted to see it, but unfortunately I wasn't there during days when it was happening. So I suppose I have to be contented with pictures.
