It's time to venture to the less known areas of Angkor. After all, I had 5 nights in the area, and so I had plenty of time to explore. This time, I started my day by heading to Ta Som. This is a small temple east of Angkor Thom.
It is a rather remote site, which took my tuktuk almost 30 minutes to get there. But eventually I found the entrance, and as it is not the most eye-catching site, I had the place to myself early that morning.
It was a small temple, and even though I later learned that the original entrance was from the eastern side, nowadays the main entrance is from the west, where the modern road is. It consists of a single shrine, and it was a nice place to briefly explore while there was no crowds.
Eventually I wanted to move on, and fortunately the tuktuk that I originally took was still there. So I hailed him again, and he brought me to my next destination.
