Cavorting in China: Nanping Mountain

The last place we wanted to visit in Hangzhou was the Nanping Mountain. This is a small hill on the southern side of West Lake, and is the home of Jingci Temple.

The mountains and its surroundings provide scenic views and a peaceful atmosphere, and sure enough, unlike the relative crowdiness of West Lake, there were not a lot of people on this area. We climbed the mountain, and explored the temple above it.

The temple has typical features, and these are things I have seen in other temples too. It was fascinating, but as I am not really a specialist in these religions, I couldn't do much beyond just visually inspecting these statues, sculptures, and altars, before moving on.

Eventually we made our way down. And we slowly wrapped up our stay in Hangzhou. One final dinner, and we packed our bags, and the day after, we took the high-speed train again back to Shanghai.
