Cavorting in China: Yu Garden

So, it was time to leave. But before we did that, we visited one final item on our list, the Yu Garden, also known as the Yuyuan Garden.

This garden is ancient, and was built in 1559, during the Ming dynasty. And it is found right in the middle of Shanghai's Old Town. Given its cultural and historical significance, we definitely wanted to visit it. So we headed there using the metro, and found the ticket booth, and soon enough, we were inside. There were plenty of people, but somehow we still were able to navigate our way within.

The garden consists of buildings such as pavilions and pagodas, as well as outdoor rock formations, streams of water, as well as footbridges. It's perhaps a very typical Chinese garden. And we explored it thoroughly. Sometimes, it was hard to go through certain paths given the amount of people, but nevertheless we managed it well I would say.

After some time, we thought that we saw the entirety of the garden, so it was time to exit. It was lunch time, and there was the nearby bazaar which offered plenty of choices, so we made use of that. And eventually, we slowly headed back.

It was time to go back home, and this trip has been a fantastic one. I suppose it was a great way to dip my feet into China, and I definitely would want to come back and visit this fantastic country once again!
