Interludes from the Rheinburgenweg: The Luther Monument in Worms

This would be the last post I would make for this trip. The final item I saw was the Luther Monument in Worms. It is actually a large one, and is in fact the largest Luther Monument ever built.

The Luther Monument is a collection of several statues, unveiled in 1868. Martin Luther's statue occupies the central piece, and the surrounding statues are representations of other individuals that are related to Luther's cause, as well as allegorical depictions of related towns. The statues are arranged like a castle, reflecting Luther's hymn.

I actually had to wait a little bit before I was able to take the above photos. The monument was just rather popular, at least when I was there. And so it took awhile before I was able to take photos without any random individuals in the view.

The monument is located near the train station of Worms. So after that, I just headed slowly back to the train station, and headed back to Mainz. It was my final day, and after one final night, I made my way back to Berlin.
