I had one last full day in Mainz. And since I have been hiking quite a bit already, I decided to use this last full day as a sightseeing day instead. From Mainz, I headed to Worms with the regional train, and while I explored the Old Town quite a bit, nothing much stood out, except for the cathedral.
The Worms Cathedral is huge. It is located on the highest point of the Old Town, and it is a church built in Romanesque style. It was rather powerful during the 12th and 13th centuries, and this is also the place where Martin Luther was condemned as a heretic in 1521.
I explored the interior, including all of its nooks and crannies. However, I also wanted to explore the exterior, given its imposing and huge appearance. Alas, there were plenty of surrounding buildings that I couldn't really get a nice exterior shot. In any case, I made do with what I had and what was accessible to me.
After exploring this cathedral, I slowly made my way out, and meandered further in the Old Town of Worms.
