A Weekend in Wrocław: National Museum in Wrocław

The last thing I decided to explore was the National Museum in Wrocław, or the Muzeum Narodowe we Wrocławiu. There are several branches of this museum within the city, but the one I decided to visit was the main building. I always have a habit of checking out the primary museum of a city, if it exists, to familiarise myself with the local offerings so to speak, when it comes to art and culture.

I procured a ticket for the permanent collection, which showed me a large sampling of the art coming from the area, through the years. The pictures below are a sampling of them.
I actually liked the exhibits of the tombs of Silesian princes, as well as the Gothic artworks. I normally like contemporary art, but seeing these works from a historical context was definitely a plus. I also appreciated the multimedia elements that allowed me to learn more about these exhibits beyond simply seeing them behind a glass case.

Overall, this was a fun visit. And as my visit to this wrapped up, I slowly headed back to my hotel. And the day after, I was on the train back to Berlin.
