The last thing we checked out before leaving Athens was this fantastic museum. The Museum of Cycladic Art is a private museum, and focuses on the artefacts found in a concentrated area of the Greek islands.
We actually wanted to see some other museum, but as it was the first Sunday of the month, that museum we originally wanted to see was popular for visitors, and there was a long queue to see it. So we changed out plans at the last minute, and went here instead. It turned out to be a good choice, as we had an enjoyable and educational visit.
I didn't really know of the various different Greek islands, and after this museum visit, I now know a bit more about a particular region, the Cyclades. This set of islands is located in the Aegean Sea, and the artefacts displayed in this museum show the rich culture that had flourished in these islands several centuries ago.
After our visit, we eventually headed out, and found lunch. Afterwards, we then picked up our luggage from the luggage storage and headed to the airport, as it was time to head home.
