Back in the summer, we ordered something from Amazon. And it happened that the delivery date coincided with a day when I was working from home. For some bizarre reason, the delivery person was rude, and left a bad taste in the mouth. I mean, he was calling me "Bro!"
I already was notified that the delivery was going to arrive within a particular time. So when the doorbell rang, I knew what it was, and opened the door (I otherwise ignore the doorbell when I am not expecting anything). Through the window, I saw the delivery person enter the courtyard, and eventually into the side of the building where our flat is located. And as I was about the open the door, I heard him essentially shouting my name through the corridor. Multiple times. My flat is in the first floor, but it seems he didn't want to climb up the stairs and he would rather have me go down and meet him downstairs. He's the lazy type, got it.
I didn't have reason to be in a hurry, but most likely he did. He probably had a quota of deliveries he's trying to beat. And when I opened the door, our neighbour's dog from upstairs was in the corridor, and was rather interested in me, so I also had a slight delay in getting out since the dog was there. In the meantime, the delivery person was taking his beloved precious time going up the stairs. Eventually we met halfway. And guess what he said: "I'm calling you bro!"
I didn't respond. I just grabbed the package from his hand. I actually didn't say anything, since after all, what do you say to someone rude like that? I mean, I am a customer, I ain't no bro. I assume he was having a bad day - it's the days after Prime Day after all - but don't blame the customer. If you don't like your job as a delivery person, then do something else.
