A Journey to Japan: Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art

It was raining that afternoon in Okayama. So we decided to duck into one of the several museums that were close to each other. Somehow we ended up in the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art, and I have to say, that was a great choice.

This museum is one of many museums in Japan that is supported by the prefectural government. During the time we visited, there was a fantastic exhibit on the Silk Road, and so there were plenty of artefacts that were immediately related to this historical aspect.
There were plenty of items we found interesting. There were shoes, ornaments, statues, and many other things that were of historical significance. We spent a few hours looking at these, while it was pouring rain outside.

The Silk Road is something that I have learned in school, and even though I haven't been to the countries which this historical event played a major role in, I definitely would want to go there after seeing these exhibits.
