I went back to Potsdam. Given that Potsdam is where multiple hiking trails intersect, at some point, I would go back here multiple times over the years. And since I am opening another direction on the E10, I had to go back here one more time.
The thing is, the E10 is not the most straightforward trail in Brandenburg. From Potsdam, it goes north, and once you hit Wustermark, it actually branches into two, and later on joins again, near the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Also, from Potsdam, it goes south, eventually going to Saxony. And due to the fact that my northbound trail was going towards remote areas with no public transportation during weekends, I decided to pause that for the time being and instead go south instead. Hence I went back to Potsdam.
I started from Potsdam Central Station, and shortly from there I reached the Platz am Brauhausberg, where the intersection of the E10 and E11 are. I remember this area being a construction site once, but now it is all tidy and clean.
The trail immediately goes to the forest from there. At some point, I passed the Kleiner Ravensberg, a small hill with an observatory.
Of course, there is a small lake. I saw a woman swimming, and a few other people just chilling on the shores.
At some point, the scenery changed, and instead of forests, it turned into meadows. I saw an old windmill, though it wasn't operating when I was passing by.
Eventually I reached the village of Saarmund, which is part of the town of Nuthetal. This is a quiet village, and I definitely cannot imagine myself living in such a neighbourhood. In any case, I found the nearby train station, and from there I caught a train to go back home.
I will try to continue this southward stretch of the E10, although when I get the chance to hike on a week day I would continue the northern stretch.
