I definitely had a positive impression of Mainz. It was a city that was not very large, yet gave a very livable vibe. One of the areas that I really liked was the waterfront, the Mainzer Promenade.
This is perhaps the front yard of the city. This is where events happen. This is also where there are nice buildings that are facing the Rhine, where you can see ships and other vessels pass by.
There are fancy old-style buildings, and yes I do wonder what it would be like living in such a place. There are also sculptures displayed in public, along the strip of park land which is used by people exercising, as well as simply hanging out. There is also the remnants of the old wall, which is still present in various places. And at the end, there is the hill, where the castle is located.
This was a great place to relax, and I am glad that I have visited it.
