I did some research about Wrocław before heading there. And one of the things I thought was interesting to see was the Hala Stulecia, or the Centennial Hall. This building is located on the eastern side of the city, near its large park area. So I took the tram to get there one afternoon to check out this architectural wonder.
The Centennial Hall was designed by Max Berg, a German architect. Now this building is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an example of reinforced concrete architecture, and it is rather spacey.
From the outside, it looks like just a circular building. But actually, the interior is better to look at. There is a Visitor's Centre which gives quite some detailed information about the building, and there's even a way to experience the building in Virtual Reality. So I checked that out. But really, what I really liked was seeing the building from the inside.
I think it's just a fantastic piece of architecture. The shapes and contour of the place when seen from the inside is just impressive. I explored the areas that were accessible to us as visitors, and took the above photos.
After some time, I made my way to the exit, and from there, took another tram to head back to the city.
