I don't always shop in Amazon. The only time I do so is when there are things that I really need, yet I know that it would be hard to find them in an offline retail store. So these are the times when I go online and see what is available. In the past, Amazon has been a great place to find items. However, nowadays, it feels like it is a very cluttered marketplace.
I know that there are numerous third-party sellers on Amazon's marketplace platform. Basically, you see every seller and their grandmother on Amazon. I used to just buy books in Amazon, until I shifted to my favourite neighbourhood bookstore. And then Amazon started having other items for sale aside from books. But oh my goodness, sometimes the quality can just be crappy. There are sellers who you don't even know who they are, they have some bizarre name, and even though it sounds like they are a legitimate company, it's so obscure-sounding. Sometimes, you have to sift through so much low-quality goods, that it basically feels like it is the online equivalent of sifting through a flea market. And I actually don't like going to flea markets. So one just has to scroll down and down, until one finds something that is perhaps useful. Or the item that you're searching for.
And then there are the sponsored items, which of course, will appear higher on the list. Are those the ones that you're looking for? Maybe, maybe not. In any case, there's so much visual clutter that really, I feel like I am being drawn away from using Amazon more and more. It's just a marketplace of clutter, and except for the few items that I regularly purchase every now and then, I really don't think this is my first place to go to when I need to shop for something online.
